PROFILE

Valley

Valley is a Toronto-based Canadian alternative pop band consisting of three members: Rob Laska, Karah James, and Alex Dimauro. The band was formed when members from two different bands, Cars & Guitars and National Parks, were accidentally double-booked in the same local studio at the same time, leading to their chance encounter and eventual formation.

Nominated for the "Breakthrough Group of the Year" at the JUNO Awards, which is often referred to as Canada's Grammy Awards, Valley has received recognition for their outstanding achievements. They have also supported bands like The Band Camino and Lennon Stella on tour. When they posted a nearly unfinished song "Like 1999" on TikTok with the caption, "If this video hits 1 million plays, I’ll release it," the video quickly reached 1 million views, leading to the song's release.

With their catchy melodies and lyrics that capture the melancholy of 2020 from a youthful perspective, Valley's music resonated with listeners in Japan, earning them 7th place on LINE MUSIC’s international chart and 13th place on the Spotify Japan Viral Chart.

Now, with 10 years of music experience under their belt, Valley is entering a new chapter as a trio. Their third album, Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden (released on August 30, under Universal Music Canada and Interscope/Capitol Label Group), is a testament to their adaptability and unwavering strength as a band.
